The for non-U.S. citizens enables graduate students, young professionals, and artists from abroad to study and conduct research in the United States. The Fulbright Foreign Student Program operates in more than 155 countries worldwide.听

If you are a non-U.S. citizen interested in learning more about or applying for a Fulbright grant to study in the United States, you must contact the or U.S. embassy in your home country for more information and to apply.

The New School is proud to serve as a host institution for foreign Fulbright students each year. Current Fulbright foreign student grantees who have been placed at The New School through the Institute of International Education (IIE) should contact the IIE advisor for Fulbright Program information, visa support, and status requirements. Students who are placed by an organization other than IIE, such as AMIDEAST or LASPAU, should contact their advisor at their placement organization for more information.

Each year, some 800 faculty and professionals from around the world receive Fulbright Scholar grants for non-U.S. citizens for advanced research and university lecturing in the United States through the . Individual grants are available to scholars from more than 100 countries. Individuals who meet the eligibility requirements can apply for grants through the or public affairs section of the in their home countries.

help U.S. international education professionals and senior higher education officials create empowering connections with the societal, cultural, and higher education systems in other countries. Grantees have the opportunity to learn about the host country鈥檚 education system and to establish networks of U.S. and international colleagues in the course of an intensive two-week grant period. Grantees return with enhanced ability to serve and encourage international students and prospective study abroad students. New School staff and administrators who are U.S. citizens and are interested in learning more about these seminars or need application support can email the campus Fulbright Program advisor.

The for U.S. citizens provides grant funding awards for individually designed study/research projects and for English teaching assistant programs. The primary goal is to promote understanding between people in the United States and those in other countries. Applicants from all academic and personal backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Students and alumni interested in the English Teaching Assistant programs through Fulbright are also encouraged to consider pursuing The New School鈥檚 Certificate in TESOL program or taking coursework in the program to support their academic and professional endeavors.

Opportunities are available for college and university faculty and administrators and for professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, independent scholars, and many others.听
